A Wise Word on Salt & FREE Flowers Word Search
Did you know that adding a pinch of salt to your coffee can help to reduce its bitterness?
Salt is known to subdue bitterness, so just a tiny amount can make a big difference in the taste of your coffee.
I also add a tiny smidgen to my after-dinner hot tea because salt also enhances the flavor.
God’s Word does speak a bit about salt…
Job 6:6 says, “Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?”
Matthew 5:13, “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”
Mark 9:50 - “Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.”
Turning back to my introduction, which refers to salt removing some bitterness… our WORDS should not induce bitterness in those with whom we are speaking.
Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
May we ask for God’s help in seasoning our words with grace…and even when we do need to be more direct and harsh, may we season our words with some saltiness so that it softens the blow a bit.
