Howdy, my friends!
I’ve been busy this spring and summer working in my garden. It’s required being consistent to get out there daily to water, oversee pulling of weeds, and watching for the pests.
(Oh, did I have the hugest hornworm I ever did see… ruin one of my tomato plants on one weekend when I wasn’t watching carefully. ugh!)
Digging for some spiritual thoughts on gardening, our Lord Jesus calls us to tend to the gardening of our hearts…
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God…
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” — Luke 8:11, 15 KJV
Some seeds fall on stony places, some among thorns — but the good seed takes root in soil that’s ready and willing to grow strong and fruitful.
The Devil wants to destroy the planting of vital seeds (the Word of God), to keep those from believing and being saved (Luke 8:12). Let’s be ever sowing those seeds out there… the world needs to hear the gospel!
Then, there are those seeds fallen upon rock (Luke 8:13). These are ones who receive the Word of God with joy… receiving salvation, but because they have no deep root in the Word of God, they wilt away.
As Christians, we need daily digging in the Word of God and watering our roots so that our roots grow deeper in our faith.
We’ve got to pull out the weeds of doubt, loosen the soil with prayer, and water the seeds with the Word of God. It takes patience and diligence — but oh, how sweet the fruit when God’s truth grows deep roots in our lives!
💚 May our hearts always be grounded, ready to grow in His Word.
God bless you and your family,
Rhonda White, CWM
Here’s some of my gardening pics…

And now a few random pics from my “hopeful” garden from the beginning of spring. (That’s where I tossed out a packet of wildflowers and just hoped that something would grow. haha)

I love your garden pictures, Rhaonda. Yes, it looks like you have been very busy! I'm a wildflower girl, and I just adore your Black-eyed Susans. Do you pickle your cucumbers? Looks scrumptious. Enjoy the fruits of your labor. Blessings.
