My weekly personal note:
(Skip down to the weekly journal jots if you prefer.)
Good afternoon, Friend,
How did your memorial weekend go? We did a bit of traveling to see my parents for a quick overnight trip. I also got to spend some time with two of my sons over the weekend.
It seems like the older I grow, the more I appreciate each moment with loved ones. I’m learning to live and enjoy those moments more and more.
I still struggle sometimes with fussing over to-dos in my mind…but those are little things that will spoil being present in the moment. So note to self: Don’t do it! Let it go for a moment! Hahaha
I have two quick verses to share with you today as an encouragement…
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” - Proverbs 18:10 kjv
Do you have a safe place to carry your stress and worries?
I know it takes practice to hand it over to God. Sometimes I have to verbally say, “Lord, I’m giving you all these cares and concerns to take care of while I get some rest.”
Our rest is what helps us handle the everyday stress and busyness. God created our bodies to need rest and refreshment, so please don’t put it on the back burner of priorities.
Psalms 127:2 says,
“It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”
So let’s rest in the Lord together each night!
Keep walking in faith,
Rhonda White
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” - Psalm 51:10 kjv
