Seven Journaling Jots to Inspire You #Week 17
My Yard Work is Truly a Labor of Love for my Neighbors. Ha!
My weekly personal note:
(Skip down to the weekly journal jots if you prefer.)
Good afternoon, Friend,
Tis the season for yard work. Haha! I do love plants and surely enjoy browsing nice landscapes as I drive down the road.
But my own yard? HA! I’m not very outdoorsy, and it shows. sigh. My yard work is truly a labor of love, so as to not force my neighbors to view an unsightly jungle. Hee hee!
I try to venture out at least one day each week to clean up, pull weeds and try to make things look a bit more pleasant.
Right now, I have a long way to go in catching up because I tend to wait until sweater weather is over (I’m still cold until the end of May LOL)…by then, the weeds are mocking me, and proudly showing off their victory.
You know what?
Weeds need to be pulled in our own spiritual lives. When we neglect them, our friends, family, neighbors and acquaintances end up having to gaze upon an unsightly attitude or hear less than pleasant words.
We often stink long before we realize it ourselves.
There was a quote that I heard in college that said, “Go one day without your Bible, and you know it (things don’t go so well). Go two days without your Bible, and your family knows it. Go three days without your Bible and EVERYONE knows it!
Those little things we do that we shouldn’t also creep into our lives and cause consequences that spoil the joy and blessings we could have obtained.
Song of Solomon 12:15-17 says,
“Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.”
Don’t be like Rhonda and neglect those weeds! Ha!
In all seriousness, I know it’s a battle to stay consistent in weeding out those bad things in our life, while planting and watering daily with the Word of God. But, let me encourage you today to avoid getting so busy this summer that the weeds take over in your life.
Keep walking in faith,
Rhonda White

7 Journal Jots: (Use these ideas for your own journal or ministry)
You’re better off letting GOD take care of it. (Such a simple plan that works and eliminates our stress.)
“Every JOURNEY begins with a first step. Make each step count.” - Brenda Rogers
“There are three stages to every great work of GOD: First it is IMPOSSIBLE, then it is DIFFICULT, then it is DONE.” - J. Hudson Taylor (1832-1905) Founder of the China Inland Mission
“We would accomplish more things if we did not think of them as impossible.” - Vince Lombard (1913-70) Green Bay Packers Head Coach
“Never limit your prayers because you think you’re sinful or undeserving. You’re not praying because of who you are — you’re praying because of Who He is.” - Saw this on social media
Baby steps are still steps that move you forward, no matter how small they may seem. Don’t let discouragement defeat you.
QUESTION: What hard things are you facing that cause you to think you are unable to be victorious, unable to move forward? write it down and then research at least 3 Scripture verses to remind you that God is able!
