Some food for thought…
A short while back I was reading in John chapter 11 about Jesus’ miracle when he raised Lazarus from the dead. The Bible verse that caught my attention this time, when I was reading the chapter, was John 11:41 (KJV)…
“Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.”
As Jesus began to speak to the Heavenly Father, it immediately reminded me of the verse from Psalm 100:4 (KJV) which says,
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
Let’s remember to come before our Heavenly Father with a heart of gratitude… NOT just in November but ALL YEAR long! (And we can REJOICE because our Heavenly Father will take time to listen to us! We can depend upon Him!)
Sometimes we get caught up in the “help, help, give me, give me” part of our prayer.
How would we feel if our children, or any of our friends, always started their conversation with a want or need?
This morning, I was quite emotional, praising God for His goodness, mercies, and the people He’s placed in my life.
(Unfortunately, I’m not always so full of gratitude as I should be!! I want to work much more on sincere gratitude during my devotional & prayer time.)
