Today, I want to explore some fun with words. I enjoy using quirky and amusing words. How about you?
Here are some whimsical words that amuse me…
(Try creating your own sentences with these words — if you have children at home, let them join in on the fun! Challenge: Use them all in one or two sentences, like I’ve done in the puzzle below.)
Whimsical English Words
Cackle - (noun) a loud laugh, (verb) to laugh irritatingly
*Example: The elderly lady cackled at the bizarre display of pigs sliding around in the mud.
Dawdle - (verb) delay, waste time
*Example: Quit dawdling and get your work done! (A great one to use on your kids. LOL)
Doozy - (noun) winner, humdinger
*Example: “That’s a doozy!” (Can be used in a sarcastic way to imply a humdinger. Am I talking in circles now? LOL!)
Whack - (noun) hit, try, attempt
*Example: I’ll take a whack at sparking your own creativity while I’m punching my laptop keys. (I like the word whack so much that I used it as my “Create With Me” intro motto. haha!)
Wonky - (adjective) shaky, crooked, unstable
*Example: My hair is a little wonky today. (LOL! This is an actual sentence I used this week while chatting with my hubby.)
Funny Urban Dictionary Words:
Snaccident: n. When food (a snack) is consumed in an accidental, often regrettable way. This can refer to accidentally eating food of questionable quality and/or quantity.
