Hello & Fa la la,
(Side note: If you’re in a hurry… scroll downward, and you’ll find the Classic Christmas Cookies Recipe gift collection.)
It’s been a long while since I’ve popped in here. So much has happened since I last chatted with you.
Back in October my mother helped me with redoing my deteriorating shower walls. They needed a huge overhaul! Believe it or not, it took the entire month to complete. Frustratingly, we kept running into snags…. however, we kept plowing forward one tiny step at a time. It was exhausting…and let me tell you, I now firmly believe that my mom is one of the hardest workers I know. Whew!
Then, came November… it’s a foggy haze now… it whizzed by, and I’m still not sure what all I accomplished, but let’s just say, that I’m NEVER bored. Not even for a minute. haha
December is a time to make a ton of candy and make yourself more plump. haha. I’ve had one event after another, to attend or participate in, and am ready to just hit Christmas Day and enjoy my mom’s famous fruit salad.
» By the way, my hubby and I just celebrated our 30th anniversary on Monday!

Christmas Day Plan:
This year, we’re doing something different… each of us bought our own gift to wrap for Christmas Day. And we also each bought stocking stuffer type of gifts for every family member…that way we still think about each other….and within our own budget needs.
We always read the Christmas story from Luke 2 before gifts get unwrapped. We enjoy some cinnamon rolls and egg nog afterward.
Pretty simple plans… and I especially look forward to pie & fruit salad at mealtime. FYI, pie is my favorite dessert. There is no particular kind… it’s the PIE itself… I love the pie crust. haha! (But, I do have two favorite kinds right now… pecan pie and cherry pie.)

Focus & Theme for 2024:
Just this morning, I selected my writing theme focus and word of the year… “Accountable.”
“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” ~ Romans 14:12 KJV
My friend, Valerie, on Facebook encouraged others to teach accountability to our young people. She said (quote), “It’s a given that parents and church leaders have a serious responsibility to train (and model) children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and too many will not, but at the end of every-one’s own life, there’s a personal accounting.”
We each will be accountable to God someday for all our words and actions, and we also need to teach our young people that they, too, will be accountable before God someday.
